Good morning!
I checked the weather forecast, and we’re FINALLY due for some rain in the coming week! California has been so dry, it hasn’t rained it ages. Even folks up in Lake Tahoe are having trouble going down ski slopes because of the lack of snow!
I enjoyed a bowl of steel cut oats this morning.
What went in it:
- 1/4 cup steel cut oats
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup almond milk(added after cooking)
- 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses (added after the pic was taken)
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tsp ground flax
Simmered for 25 min on my stove.
Yummy. But keep in mind that not everyone likes blackstrap molasses like I do…
And of course, I had to have a green smoothie (even though it’s winter).
The Green Smoothie:
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 handfuls spinach
- 2 tsp ground flax
- 2 ice cubes
Refreshing… and again, like I said before, YOU CAN”T TASTE THE SPINACH!
It just tastes like a normal + delicious banana smoothie.
